To: The Nassau Humane Society Family of Volunteers and Supporters
I want to take this opportunity to personally thank each of you for your commitment and support to the Nassau Humane Society in 2012. Each financial or time contribution you make helps us rescue the homeless animals in our community and find them a “forever home”. In 2012, we had over 500 adoptions. A new record for NHS. Whether you contribute financially or volunteer at Second Chance, Dog Park, Dog Walker, Shelter or a Fundraiser, you play a significant role in our success. Certainly we couldn't do what we do without our dedicated Shelter Staff. We have a great team that will only get better as we move forward in 2013.
This You Tube video contains pictures of some of our 2012 Adoptions. I think the smiling faces are saying “thank you”.

I wish you and your family a safe and 2013!

Nassau Humane Society is dedicated to the humane treatment of all animals; to alleviate their suffering and neglect, to support the human-animal bond, and to foster an environment in which people respect all living creatures.
We will pursue workable solutions to the most urgent animal welfare needs of our community, which are animal overpopulation and homeless pets. Our solutions will emphasize the mutual benefit of bringing pets and people together.
We will provide rescue and control as a lifeline to animals in need and for the necessary protection of our community. We will encourage and provide for pet adoption, animal-assisted therapy, pet care education, outreach spay and neuter program and other welfare efforts, all in support of our comprehensive community service obligation.
